Windows desktop · LiDAR · 3D terrain

Explore detailed terrain without living inside a GIS.

LiTerra3D is a Windows desktop application built around a simple idea: make authoritative public LiDAR and terrain data easier to find, render, inspect, and compare in an interactive 3D environment.

Terrain views

Different ways to understand the same landscape.

LiTerra3D separates raw measured data, terrain-focused visualization, and derived structures so each can be explored on its own terms.

Raw Scan

Inspect measured LiDAR returns directly, including elevation, classification, intensity, and other point-cloud attributes.

Ground Surface

Focus on the terrain itself with surface-oriented rendering designed to make elevation, relief, and subtle landscape form easier to read.

Structures

Keep building and bridge-derived geometry as a separately managed layer instead of blending it into the terrain surface.

Exploration workflow

From an area of interest to an interactive 3D scene.

Find an area

Select an area of interest and work with available public terrain and LiDAR sources rather than starting from a pile of GIS files.

Process locally

Download and prepare data on the Windows workstation so exploration and rendering remain part of a focused desktop workflow.

Render for readability

Point-cloud EDL, elevation and classification coloring, hillshade, and terrain-focused rendering modes are used to make dense geospatial data easier to interpret.

Compare landscapes

Comparison-oriented views are designed to help inspect how terrain and visible features differ across available datasets or time periods.

LiTerra3D is developed as proprietary Windows desktop software. Its development repository is intentionally private.
